Ds Ballagh Bouncer at Derryronane stud
4yr old Fully approved Class 1 Irish Draught

Stallions Pedigree: DS Ballagh Bouncer is sired by the Grade A RID Gold Merit Showjumping stallion Moylough Bouncer. His grand sire was the Grade A Gold Merit stallion Grange Bouncer. On his dam side, Mount Diamond Princess goes back to the great Flagmount Diamond and her dam Cleggan Rose was sired by the great Blue Peter.
The dam sire of DS Ballagh Bouncer, Mount Diamond Flag, is also the sire of the famous Grand Prix Dressage stallion, Steeped in Luck, who was approved as both a Class 1 Gold Premium Irish Draught Stallion and a Class 1 Irish Sport Horse in the HSI Studbook and is also approved with the Canadian Sport Horse Stallion Studbook. Mount Diamond Flag is a son of Flagmount Diamond, sire of the multiple International Grand Prix winning showjumper Hopes are high, who competed under Nick Skelton; and the Grade A showjumping stallion Diamond Chin. Flagmount Diamond was ranked in the Top 50 showjumping stallions of the World in 1998-1999 by the World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses (WBFSH). Flagmount Diamond was also the sire of the Grand Prix showjumper and Class 1 RID stallion Crosstown Dancer.
On DS Ballagh Bouncer’s dam line we have the great Blue Peter. Blue Peter was the sire of Blue Rajah, the champion RID stallion. Blue Peter’s progeny also include some exceptional show horses, for example, Roma Blue Wind and Touch of the Blues. Roma Blue Wind was a champion Hornby premium mare who has won many top titles at the RDS and in England at the National Irish Draught breed shows. Touch of the Blues was a winner at the RDS, and a winner at Irish Draught National Shows in England and America.
Stallions Perfomance: DS Ballagh Bouncer is a beautiful, athletic type Irish draught horse. He has carried his exceptional looks, intelligence, movement and jumping ability from his father Moylough Bouncer.
At just 4 years of age, DS Ballagh Bouncer is a horse that looks to have a bright future ahead of him. He has already passed his inspections, achieving Class 1 RID in Cavan in 2015. Comments from the selection panel included: ‘very active in all gaits’, ‘lovely carrying canter’ and ‘this is an attractive horse expected to contribute quality and movement to the breed’.
He began his career under saddle at the end of 2015, being broken and attending a training show where he impressed with his straight forward nature, attitude and jumping potential. He has beautiful flowing paces and shows great technique and carefulness over a fence. He was lightly hunted over the winter months where he was kind, brave and intelligent.
In 2014, as a 2 year old, DS Ballagh Bouncer claimed first prize at both National Shows and went on to be Supreme National Young Stock Champion. DS Ballagh Bouncer was a prolific winner in the show ring as a yearling in 2013. He was a winner of the yearling class at the IDHBA show in Mullingar, winner of the yearling colt class in Ballivor and qualified for the All Ireland Star of the Future Final.
DS Ballagh Bouncer certainly seems to be an exciting prospect for the future and is one that Derryronane Stud is extremely excited about producing.
